Community Partners Launch Pre-Apprenticeship Program

A coalition of Sacramento community organizations has launched a new pre-apprenticeship program designed to prepare residents from underserved neighborhoods for careers in the skilled construction trades.

The program, developed in partnership with local labor organizations and employers, provides 12 weeks of hands-on construction skills training, safety certification, math and literacy support, and direct connections to registered apprenticeship programs.

The first cohort of 25 participants includes residents from South Sacramento, Del Paso Heights, and Oak Park, neighborhoods that have historically had limited access to construction career pathways.
